This weekend, Stowe Archers was proud to host our second Outdoor 3D Shoot of the 2017 Season. Leading up to this event, weather reports were showing possible rain and thunderstorms. As it turns out, we had two beautiful days to enjoy in the woods.
New this month was the implementation of two new classes. K40 – Known Distance with a 40 Yard Max for those with a Bowhunter setup and K50 – Known Distance with a 50 Yard Max for those with an Unlimited setup. These new classes were created to eliminate the confusion around our previous Range Finder class and to capitalize on the quickly growing Known Distances classes at major events.
When the weekend was over, we had 67 archers on our course. We would like to thank everyone for joining us on this holiday weekend. We hope to see you all back again next month for our 3D Shoot on Saturday, June 24th and Sunday, June 25th!

This weekend, Stowe Archers was proud to host our first Outdoor 3D Shoot of the 2017 Season. This month we decided to try something a little different and shoot both Saturday and Sunday. Despite cold and wet weather on Saturday, attendance was promising. Going forward, we will continue to shoot the 4th Sunday of each month (April through August) as well as the Saturday before.
Most scorecards weren’t turned in, however, the available results have been posted down below. In addition, targets and distances have been included for those that were curious about a particular target.
We would thank to thank everyone that came out to shoot our course this month. We had some fantastic feedback and everyone seemed to enjoy the tough shots and use of terrain. Thanks for making the April Outdoor 3D Shoot at Stowe Archers a success!

Since the beginning of January, the Stowe Archers indoor range has been buzzing with activity. Throughout the week, archers would come in and practice for our weekly 450 League on Tuesday nights.
Ever since Walt took over the league three years ago, small tweaks have been made each year to try and make the teams as competitive as possible. This year handicapping was changed from a 10-Week Average to your Season Best.
For some archers, this change lit a fire under them and the competitive juices began to flow. For other archers, this change lead to lopsided scores. While no one complained, as league administrator, I preferred seeing tighter scores and a broader distribution of points throughout the season.
Despite lower total scores, the 2017 Stowe Archers 450 league Finals were fun to watch. There were some excellent matchups – I hope you enjoy the video and commentary below.
On February 18th, Stowe Archers hosted our first Indoor 3D Money Shoot of 2017. Interest was high and we filled two lines without much trouble. We had a couple of no-shows but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and the feedback has been fantastic. We are thrilled that everyone had a good time and hope to see everyone back soon.
